Stylish and Sporty
My husband is impressed with these shoes. The grey and black combo is clean and versatile—it has a sporty vibe that works just as well with jeans as it does for more active wear. The suede texture adds a nice premium touch, and the gum sole is an interesting detail that gives them just a bit of retro style.
Fit-wise, these run between true-to-size to possibly on the smaller side. My husband is usually between an 11.5 and 12 depending on the brand, and we went with a 11.5. They fit, but they’re a little tight, That said, the materials feel like they’ll break in with wear and should stretch out a bit over time. If you’re between sizes or have a wider foot, you might consider sizing up.
Overall, these are great-looking shoes with solid build quality!

Comfy & Stylish (tiny bit small)
I got these shoes for my husband. He likes casual shoes that aren't too flashy, but still look nice and are stylish. These convers are great because he can wear them with super casual outfits like shorts and t-shirts, or he can wear them with nice jeans and a polo. We took them on a trip recently and he was able to wear them with so many of his outfits because of the neutral color and style. They are super versatile! We also love the suede material on the outside because that adds a stylish and cool element.
The ONLY downside is that they run a tiny bit small. My husband likes to wear a decently thick sock, but with these he has to wear a pretty thin sock, and even then they feel pretty tight. He recommends going up a half size.

Comfy fit
These shoes run true to size and are extra cushioned. They are wider so your foot isn’t crammed. The material is thick and looks like it will last. That being said they are rather bulky. The neutral colors are nice and will go with many outfits. The suede is a little less easy to wipe down but they will hopefully stay clean. They remind me of the old skateboard sneakers.

Nice upgrade from OG chucks
As a millennial wearing chucks has always been a thing, these elevate the classic into a more “sophisticated”… middle age adult appropriate look.
They run a little narrow, but overall true to size. I appreciate the tonal color way, worry the suede will scuff or hold stains more so than a classic.
They are significantly more comfortable than a classic, with more support as well. Ideal for someone wanting retro vibes. I like the gum rubber bottom as it stands out from the greys.

Tried and true!
This is my second pair of the CL98 Suede, and they've officially earned a spot in my heavy rotation. The retro design hits just the right balance between sporty and stylish, and the suede upper adds a premium feel that dresses up or down effortlessly. They broke in quickly and are incredibly comfortable for all-day wear. A solid go-to that works with everything from denim to relaxed tailoring — definitely a staple in my lineup.

Very comfortable
This shoe was very comfortable, I’ve been wearing it to work for about 10hours a day and I’ve not had any complaints. The suede looks really cool with the design and all the different grays. Overall it’s a great shoe.

Nice shoes, a little bulky
I really like the style of the CL98 Suede, the suede looks and feels very nice and overall it’s a solid shoe. My only reason for not going for 5 stars is that they feel a little bulky and stiff for my taste (although I haven’t actually worn any other versions to compare against). Great flat and grippy soles, should be fine for skating and I’ve found that they stick well against mtb flat pedals. Would definitely recommend, but like any other shoe it’s probably a good idea to try them out in person if you can.

Stylish, but lacking
They fit a little tighter around the sides of the feet than most other shoes I have worn. They’re also more clunky/inflexible than other new shoes I have worn. I like the style & the fabric. I think I am just used to other styles so these felt weird to my feet.

Snazzy Shoe - Not for Yardwork
When I first saw this shoe, I saw that it shared elements of the kind of shoes I typically wear, but had the added element of Suede. I decided it was worth a shot and tried them out. Notably, the fit was spot on and comfortable. It felt like I could wear the shoe all day without my feet getting overly sweaty or cramped. This turned out to be true as I wore the shoes to the office.
One thing worth mentioning to others interested in this shoe design. I have a bad habit of wearing my nice shoes to do work around the house. This may sound obvious to most, but the suede tends to pick up dirt/grass/debris much easier than a normal shoe, and I would imagine that getting it wet regularly would be detrimental to the longevity of the shoe. I have just been more cognizant of this, but overall, I really enjoy the shoes and plan to wear them as my everyday shoe in the office.

Great Versatile Shoe
They are stylish, comfortable, and easy to wear right out of the box. The fit runs slightly big, so consider sizing down if you’re between sizes. They have a supportive feel with no break-in period needed.
The design is sleek and modern while still true to classic Converse style. I love the premium look of the suede.
What I liked most is how versatile they are. Overall, a great everyday sneaker with elevated style. Thinking about getting in another color. Love them!

Great new casual shoe
I've always been a converse fan. These are a great find- they are comfortable and go well with all my casual clothes. I love the suede finish - it makes them just a bit more classy than normal tennis shoes. I recently wore them to a standing-only concert and was surprised at how much support they have. The only negative is they are just a bit more bulky than I prefer. Overall, I'm pleased.

Comfortable shoes with style
The CL98 Suede shoes fit true to size and are comfortable enough to wear all day without sacrificing style. I like the design of these shoes and the smooth suede. They remind me of a skate shoe. There is another, rougher suede that isn't as nice in my opinion. It wouldn't prevent me from wearing the shoe though. The suede fabric is a little tougher to clean, but that is a given. All in all I like these shoes, and plan on wearing them anytime they go with my fit.

Classic and very wearable
At first, the top part of the shoe near where the laces tie was very uncomfortable and irritating. After I loosened the laces a whole bunch, it was way better. The size seemed very accurate to what I consider my normal size, and the width was good.
I like this design. I think the gray and black with a little bit of brown sole was very nice and looks good with everything. You can tell they’re Converse and it’s a classic design.
The suede looks broken in a bit and adds to the comfort of the shoe. They held up all day and stayed comfortable.
I really like the shoes, that top section is slightly irritating, but maybe after I’ve broken them in more, they’ll fit like a glove.

Converse CL98 for everyday wear and comfort
These Converse CL98’s are a great, comfortable pair of shoes for everyday wear. With a classic style and silhouette that blends with modern materials and comfort, these shoes are perfect to wear all the time. They can be great for skateboarding or just walking around, or even wear them for a night out with the right outfit. These shoes fit true to size and will be worn all summer long.

Nostalgia with a modern twist !
These are such a fun throwback style that blend the look of a lightweight skater sneaker with an everyday lifestyle shoe. I was initially worried about the suede material in the summer months, but they’ve turned out to be versatile and wearable year-round.
I absolutely love how they look. I’ve worn them for errands with athleisure (as pictured), and I’ve also paired them with jeans for a nostalgic look that brought me right back to my early teenage years—walking around the mall with my friends (sooo long ago!).
As for fit, I’m a true 9 wide, and the size 9 is just a little snug on me. Since these are standard width, I think they’ll be perfect for regular or narrow feet. If you have wider feet like I do, you might want to size up. I took off one star for this reason only.
Overall, these are stylish, comfortable (once you get the right size), and a great nod to classic Converse design!

Classic shoe that is comfortable as well
The CL98 Suede fit true-to-size! As a healthcare worker, I am on my feet for the majority of the day so I am always looking for a great pair of shoes. These are so much more comfortable than I anticipated them to be! Even after a ten-hour shift, I still found them comfortable at the end of the day. They also have a classic look and will go with anything - whether it’s my scrubs, workout clothes or a casual look with my everyday clothes. I can’t speak to the quality of the shoes yet but I am hoping they stay in good condition in the long run! I really like the suede material and think that it gives them a little bit of a retro-vibe. One thing that’s interesting about the design is the suede on the front, top part of the shoe is slightly different than the rest of the shoe - it almost has a “worn-in” look to it. I personally think it gives the shoe a little bit more character but it’s definitely something that caught my attention. Overall, I love them and would buy it in another color!
