Very Disappointed
I have been wearing Vans shoes since I was a kid which is over 40 years and the quality in there shoes seems to continue to decline each year. These shoes have had very minimal use as you can tell through the photos. The top portion of the shoe where the foot inserts is completely breaking down and the black canvas is already peeling off. I am very disappointed in my purchase and definitely did not expect these to last for such a short period. The bottom of the rubber sole has not even begun to wear and the shoe is already falling apart.

Great first Pair
I got a pair from my mom as a gift. My first pair. I've had them for three years now. There still in very good condition, I wear them for just about anything and several times a week. Just a quick wipe down and shoe care, you'll be good. These were my first pair, since then I've bought a second pair, just for a change of pace. Still great though. Thanks to my mom, I'm now a big Vans fan.

I love these shoes and I got a pair a couple months ago, in store, and I wore them everyday to the point where they were falling apart. I ordered a new pair recently and I am so excited! I absolutely love these shoes so much. They're my favorite! Super great wear. I'm a 10 in women's, but order a 10 in men's for these shoes and they fit perfectly.

Super comfy, one of my fave pairs
These are beyond comfortable and of course the raven design is super neat but subtle enough it doesn't look hard. The only drawback I found is that the laces are a bit short but I plan on changing them eventually anyways. Great shoe all around!!

I'll stick to the other styles
I usually go for the classic slip on, and have had one pair of authentics, but really wanted to try the old skools. Upon first test I thought they're very stiff but so were my last slip on and those broke in just fine. Fast forward to the end of the day and my heel was being rubbed raw by these old skools! I haven't decided if I'm willing to stick through the pain and hope they break in or see if I can exchange for an authentics. (All other vans I've had may have been stiff but were never painful to wear).

Genuinely Surprised
So I have never owned a pair of Vans before. At one point I didn't really like them for some odd reason but this past year I had actually really started to understand the hype. This past week I decided to pick up my first pair and I am genuinely surprised. I expected the insole to feel like cement looking at the photos but it actually has more support than my old shoes. The upper is really good quality and it feels like they will last me a long time. They do squeak a bit as I walk but I expect that to go away after time. I also heard that they run small but I actually had to go down a full size which was surprising. The only downside I notice is that they are a bit hard to put on and take off, but I'd assume that's for added support.

So painful, unwearable
I bought these and thought they felt stiff, but all new shoes do. These WRECKED my ankles, I had to wear bandages and flip flops for over a month. Tried giving them another try six months later in short bursts and no matter what socks I wear, including vans official socks, they all get sucked into this shoe. I've bought other versions of vans sneakers, and these are unwearable and so painful. I wish I could get my money back

Bad Quality
I've had a couple pairs of Old Skools before, but the fabric on the front of this pair started breaking less than a week after I bought them, which I'm super bummed about, especially since I've never had this problem with any of my previous pairs. I've tried repairing them with super glue and sewing the fabric back on, but nothing works. :(

It was not what I expected
This model gets dirty easily and tends to stain after drying when washed. I bought them less than a year ago to go to university, they are comfortable but the fabric of the shoe has become watery and the edges are taking off.

Size on label incorrect
Bought where shoes for my wife. When they arrived they were way too big for her. I tried them on and they fit me!! She wears a w8.5 and me m8.5. These were definitely men's 8.5 marked as women's. Can't reorder because now they're sold out.

Old Skool Shoes are Great
I usually like the Authentic style better, but these are as comfortable as my Authentics. I wear them all the time, the only time I don't is at work to keep them nice. They fit nicely and are comfortable. The only thing that I don't remember the Old Skool style having before is a leather material around the opening of the shoe at the heel, makes it kind of hard to put on with certain socks but it's not a huge deal.

I didn't get the correct shoe
I purchased this shoe online but what I got in the mail was not at all what I ordered. Couldn't even get it replaced because no store in 100 miles had the size I needed and online was sold out so I had to get the authentic style and not the old skool style I wanted.

I do like the shoes. But the image of the Xolo dog doesn't stand out. You have to really focus on the image to see what it is. An advise on shoe fitting; if your an 8.5W purchase a 9W. Fits way better.

I wanted a second pair of white vans because I love them, but the ones I received today look a little different from each other. The right shoe seems wider and the lining on the toe box is different than the left shoe. It was very noticeable when I tried them on.

Perfect fit!

I love the look of these Sesame Street themed shoes. They could use more padding for sure but I knew they would be very flat when I ordered them. Look Cute, but Not Overly Comfy
The back of these kind of dig into my heel and would probably cause blisters if I wore them for a long time. The sole doesn't really have any support (I have high arches) which wouldn't be a big problem if I could take them out and replace them with a better insert, but they appear to be glued in?? They look cute, but are more of a "go to the brewery" shoe than a "walk around a city in Portugal" shoe.

I wear these Old Skool shoes everyday they are so comfortable and stylish too. This is the second time I bought black but the colors available are very cool. I'm a senior with severe arthritis and this shoes are easy for me to get by myself! So it's a win win for me.

You can only buy most colors in suede now and I'm not a fan at all. Not sure why they don't have a canvas option anymore. Also if you're buying woman sizes, go a half size down. Im an 8 in every shoe except vans.

Soles are pink and the canvas has a blue tint

Thought I was buying ALL BLACK SHOES
I was really disappointed when I opened the box and the first thing I noticed was the four strips of white canvas along either side of the laces. I did not notice in the picture on the website when ordering, but it was all I could see on them in person. I thought I would get used to it, or maybe I could color it in with sharpie, so I did not return - because the shoes themselves are great, and I wanted them in all black. In hindsight I wish I did return them because I cannot wear them without being super annoyed at the white strips. Again, I thought I was getting a pair of ALL BLACK SHOES. WHY would they do this, I cannot comprehend. If I wanted white in them I would've bought the black with white stitching. But they are great shoes otherwise from this infuriating oversight in design. It's even more noticeable when you wear black pants with them :(

Love the look of the Old Skool Van's but very uncomfortable and seem to be made for wider, flatter feet.
Could feel the tread pattern through the insoles and insoles could not be removed to be replaced.

Black Canvas
I absolutely LOVE this shoe. BUT for sizing I am a 9.5 in womens and a 7.5 in mens but that didn't align in the options so I went with my true 9.5 in womens, come to find out it was too big. Recently received my correct size a 9 in womens/ 7.tl5 in mens. Fits perfectly but since this is a unisex shoe it is a tad wide for my girl feets. But there's no way I'm returning them lol I'll wear thicker socks.

I got a 9.5, that's my forsure size, thats also the size of my slip ons but I found that these run a tad big so I have to now return them and get my refund and reorder in a size 9. Amazing shoes though I absolutely love them!!

Love them so far!
I got these in replace of the white slip on vans and so far im loving them! The slip ons ripped and turned yellow within a week and I'm having no trouble with these ones so far! Obviously there's less convenience when it comes to lacing them up compared to the slip ons but you obviously know that when purchasing them before hand. I'd rather take a couple minutes lacing them up then have huge rips any day!

Semi-hard feel, minimum cushion; have to have no foot issues
My pre-purchase guess was that basic canvas sneakers will be flat-feeling, not much cushion: I was right. Was looking for an alternate feel, casual sneaker that's canvas, inexpensive, plain/not bulky, all white (didn't mind it getting dirty and scuffed); familiar with Vans since the 80's. Got the Old Skool on sale online. Weight distribution on the somewhat heavy sole was even. Basic insole doesn't have much shock absorption, and you can easily feel (sometimes uncomfortable) what you're stepping on even with the vertical waffles: loose rocks, variation of rocks ingrained in pavement, uneven pavement areas, twigs and the truncated domes of those yellow pads near crossing areas. One foot has a known issue and this shoe makes the effect on ball of foot felt even more. After several days still breaking it in (tested it on long walks—with breaks of course—though not an ideal shoe for that), experimented with those soft insoles with cooling vents for additional comfort; then near 3 weeks added pair of foam ball of foot cushion and then just by itself on the Vans insole (ok for only a while); currently the soft insoles are on top of the foam ball of foot cushion (after initial somewhat snug feel, shoe still has comfortable room). These only helped reduce discomfort a little. So having used this shoe for over two months now (not all day), looks like you have to have strong feet without issues to absorb the impact of continuous walking on hard surfaces. Otherwise, shoe is only good for casual use — not heavy walking all day.

The best!
Super comfy classic vans! Some people don't like how fast they turn dirty and yellowish - they are white shoes it's gonna happen. Personally, I love this and think it adds to the vintage look. New white is too white. Vans are my favorite! I wear a 10.5 in the authentics but I wear a size 10 in these as they seem to run a little bigger. So make sure you order half a size down for these.

The upper heel area has a sharp piece that digs in and causes blisters to form. The toe box is too narrow for me personally causing the shoes to rub against my pinky toe forming even more blisters.

4 years and i'm still wearing them!
first of all, i skate these shoes sooo some of the things i'll mention probably won't happen to the average wearer. i got these shoes almost 4 years ago and they're still as comfy as when i first tied them on! the waffle is wearing down on the outsole which might not happen to you after 4 years but my boards grip tape could be the culprit. on the toe box where a crease usually pops up, mine have a VERY and i mean VERY small hole possibly from how long i've had them or when i was just learning skate tricks. i threw them in the washing machine AND dryer.. ik… risky.. and they're still alive and well and surprisingly NOT YELLOW! i have slip-on white vans and those turned yellowish but not these! let's go! let's hope they hangout with me even longer
